VP of Finance

The position of VP of Finance is responsible for financial operations and reporting as well as protecting assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls. This position is responsible for the oversight of financial planning & analysis, accounting close processes, treasury and financial reporting including variance analysis to ensure accurate, timely, and relevant financial reporting.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing internal control guidelines, policies, and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models for revenue and operating expense projections, incentive compensation plans for employees, and cost benefit analyses.
  • Co-develop pricing strategies for new and existing service lines while balancing profitability and comprehensive company valuation.
  • Optimize utilization of technology enablers for continuous process improvement including but not limited to ERP and CRM software platforms.
  • Track and keep updated, accurate financial records.
  • Ensure that all applicable financial regulations are followed.
  • Assist leadership with important financial decisions.
  • Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts, and statements to understand the financial state of business.
  • Monitor the financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs. Work with management to track and keep up to date.
  • Present key financial performance metrics to the Senior Leadership Team monthly.
  • Partner with departmental leaders to create and manage department-level budgets.
  • Ensure that financial processes align with departmental processes to achieve optimal results and efficiencies.
  • Connects monthly with departmental leaders to review expenses and any recommended adjustments.
  • Coordinating and directing budgeting, procurement, investment activities, and financial planning.
  • Stay current on the financial market to understand how to maximize profits and find new expansion areas.
  • Understand our financial status to meet legal requirements and keep the financial state in good standing.
  • Monthly preparation of financial records and preparation of financial statements and analysis.
  • Partner with HR and others to optimize human capital management processes and related expenses such as payroll and benefits.
  • Monitors and oversees all the accounting operations.
  • Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.
  • Produces the annual budget and forecasts-works with all departments to produce annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting internal audits and providing information to external advisors.
  • Must ensure company is compliant with local, state, and federal government entities.
  • Management of accounting staff and coordination with various accounting & finance advisory partners
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years' proven experience in a financial leadership role.
  • 10+ years' experience in accounting to include treasury, payroll, accounting, A/P, A/R, and credit.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Recent experience with Oracle NetSuite preferred.
  • Establishing and maintaining financial controls with the accounting department.
  • Expert of applicable laws and knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and reporting.
  • Understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and banking.
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with financial modeling, contract accounting and calculating incentive-based compensation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, such as department heads, to understand their financial needs and provide tailored reporting.
  • Experience working with internal and external resources to build and maintain effective and efficient processes.
