Director of WOTC Operations

The job of the Director of WOTC Operations is to lead a team of individuals responsible for Employment Credit Operations as well as the WOTC Department with compliance monitoring reviews, annual report deliverables, continuous credit tracking, estimating tax credit projections, and other special projects to measure and understand the state of regulatory compliance for Work Opportunity Tax Credit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify challenges and propose solutions to internal and external stakeholders and can execute against the desired results.
  • Supports the Executive Leadership team with the vision for the company and future projects as needed.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team, including strategic planning and execution.
  • Displays a complete understanding of WOTC and impending tax implications of our clients and can apply this understanding to coach and mentor team members.
  • Demonstrates the ability to guide clients through complex questions that will impact their bottom-line results.
  • Provides thought leadership to our client and prospect base regarding WOTC/TCI best practices (e.g., webinars, conferences).
  • Responsible for ensuring the following are fulfilled by the team or active participation in said delivery to our client base:
    • Receiving new hire data and tracking of new WOTC client data implementation
    • Assisting with ensuring data is entered and updated correctly in system
    • Auditing existing data for compliance reports, tax year end reports, and estimates
    • Generating and delivering compliance reports, tax year end reports, and estimates (different time frames/formats) to client
    • Tracking and client communication regarding all tax year end deliverables and updates
    • Generating and delivering billing reports (different time frames/formats) to client
    • Overall WOTC, tax year end, and compliance results communication with clients
    • Follow up with clients regarding existing compliance and compliance improvement, tax year end reporting, and estimates
    • Interaction with state WOTC units and tracking recent updates with state agencies
    • Knowledge of client preferences and client history to apply client management
    • Ability to improve compliance with employers at local, regional, and corporate levels
    • Ability to maintain positive customer service and client relationships from the WOTC department
  • Ability to continually improve the daily workflow and process of the WOTC Department with additional qualified associates
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team, including strategic planning and execution.
  • Actively promote and personally observes safety and security procedures.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years or more experience in the WOTC/Tax Credits and Incentives Industry
  • Minimum 3 years or more leadership experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

Special Considerations and Prerequisites

  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, Outlook, Post Employment- TNC Application for WOTC and WOTC Tracking System.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to define priorities and handle multiple tasks and projects
  • Adaptable; able to change focus quickly with a willingness to try new things
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with clients, peers, team members and leadership
  • Strong detail orientation, organizational, analytical and time management skills
  • Must have the ability to be punctual and maintain excellent attendance
  • Knowledge base skills in obtaining, generating, and delivering tax credits
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to forecast based on historical trends
  • Ability to participate and stay up to date on recent legislation that would impact the department and overall WOTC deliverables
